Graco DuetConnect LX 2-in-1 Baby Swing and Bouncer

Pros

  • Does its main job well as a swing
  • Feels sturdy once assembled
  • Buys you a few hands-free minutes when you need them most

Cons

  • Attaching the legs is fiddly, with cramped wires that can get pinched or torn
  • The toys on the mobile don't spin

When you've got a newborn at home, a good swing is worth a lot, and the Graco DuetConnect LX mostly earns its spot in our house. Once it's set up, it does what a swing should do, and it's been a reliable place to set the baby down for a few minutes.

Assembly

Getting there is the hard part. Putting the legs on is more complicated than I expected, mainly because the wiring runs through tight spaces where the legs connect. It's easy to pinch or rip a wire if you're not careful, and that's not what you want to deal with on a product that has to work. Take your time on this step and route the wires carefully before you push anything into place.

The mobile

My other gripe is the toy mobile. I assumed the toys would spin to keep the baby's attention, but they just hang there. It's a small thing, but if you're counting on the mobile for entertainment, know that going in.

Bottom line

4 stars. It's a good swing that does its main job well, held back by a cramped, wire-snagging assembly and a mobile that doesn't move.

I bought this with my own money and wasn't paid to review it.
